Affirmations. How To Program Yourself For Success

Beliefs affect our lives. Often, without realizing it, we shape reality only by beliefs. This discovery helped me to change a lot and achieve a lot. In this article, I want to share the results of my practice and its methodology using affirmations.

New life: how it all began

10 years ago I moved to another country to study, and my life changed dramatically. Everything was new and unusual, I did not know anyone, I had no one to turn to for help and advice. I had to decide everything myself. It was far from a carefree time. It was necessary to keep up with the studies, which were conducted entirely in a foreign language, and constantly earn extra money. Money was scarce, and finding a job was more difficult than I imagined. Sometimes the situation seemed hopeless, I was afraid that I would have to return home with unfulfilled dreams and unfulfilled ambitions.

This time became for me a period of growing up. I have become much more responsible. Gradually, I changed my views on many things.

Including running, to which before she was at least indifferent. In the country where I settled, it seemed that literally, everyone was running in the morning. It impressed me so much then. For the first time, I thought: why not try it for me too? It’s not for competitions, but for your own pleasure, if you don’t like it, I’ll give it up.


How running became a magic ritual


Then I got carried away with the study of positive thinking, and all my ideas about myself and about life, in general, changed dramatically. This was the beginning of an adult conscious life and has not stopped working on oneself for many years.

One of my first practices was affirmations and visualization.

In the hope of somehow improving my financial situation, I came up with a ritual
Going out for a run, I completely devoted this time to affirmations.

I thought up phrases in advance, like: “I easily find a suitable part-time job,” “I earn enough to support myself,” etc. I used the rhythm of breathing: while inhaling I said to myself: “I breathe in luck” while exhaling: “I breathe out bad luck.” “I breathe in wealth and abundance – I breathe out need.” “I breathe in energy – I breathe out despair.” Thus, I ran several kilometers.
This practice became so important that I just couldn’t miss a run. I was obsessed with my “magic” running.

It really worked! The possibilities are endless

I continued to run, setting myself more and more goals. And now I have already “grown” to the salary, which I outlined in affirmations a year ago.

I described in detail and turned into affirmations my ideas about what kind of person I want to marry. Recently I found a notebook where I diligently wrote down these phrases and was amazed: ALL the qualities that are important to me are in my beloved husband.

It’s incredible how accurate the order was!

How it works


If you’re not a jogger at all, walking is a great alternative.

The main thing is to physically engage the body: running, exercise bike, walking, yoga … The thought process slows down, it becomes easier to bring the necessary information to the subconscious level.

Multiple repetitions will contribute to the fact that soon you will no longer perceive what you are saying as something from the world of fantasy. Affirmations will enter your daily thought stream and will be accepted by the subconscious as the truth. This is how a belief is formed.

Subsequently, it will attract the corresponding situations, which will confirm it in every possible way.

We begin to believe in what we repeat over and over again. It doesn’t matter if we do it aloud or in our mind.

The most difficult

The only negative that can make you quit is slow results.

It takes time to turn an affirmation into a belief in which the subconscious mind will believe, and the brain will stop resisting.

The hardest part is to keep working with the affirmation when it seems that nothing at all is getting off the ground. Sometimes it can take several years, as I had with a question that was resolved three years after I started working with him. Yes, it takes a long time. But it was worth it.

Everything happened easily and almost effortlessly on my part, exactly as I programmed it for myself. Most of the goals were achieved much faster.

Everything else is simple


Patience will be the only effort, and you absolutely do not need to track whether the subconscious has believed, whether resistance has disappeared, etc. You just scroll your affirmations in your thoughts until you get bored of it, that is until you feel that they have become your habitual background. This means that the process has begun, and the necessary beliefs are firmly rooted in the mind.

The belief is created, and it will work at the best time for this, even if you have already turned your attention to something else.

Follow the instructions

The secret of a working affirmation is the involved movement, the verb. In the present tense, in the first person, without denials. It is important not just to state the fact, but to include action in relation to the fact. For example, “I become …, find …, meet …”. This is necessary for the brain and subconscious mind to perceive this information as an instruction for action.

Define the problem: let’s say you don’t like the job.

Decide what exactly you want to change, to what result to come. Do not think about HOW you will come to this, the final result is important here. Do you want to change the field of activity? Or maybe just a place of work. What is the salary? Specify the desired amount. Let it be ambitious, but not transcendental. Remember, you have to convince yourself that the results are within reach. Start small and then grow your query.

State the result in several affirmations. For example: “I get an interesting job with a salary …” (let’s say, 20% more than the current one), “I find myself in a friendly team”, “I am engaged in … (insert the type of activity)”, “I am satisfied schedule “, etc. Remember the main rule: only in the present tense. For the subconscious, there is no tomorrow, there is only now. Build sentences in an affirmative form (without the “not” particle).

– Choose a regular, ideally, daily activity: running, walking, housework … Anything that does not require mental concentration.

Make a ritual out of this activity: when doing it, scroll through the affirmations in your head. Like a plate, 10-20-50 times.

Work with one goal or problem at a time. This is much more effective, and it will be easier for you to concentrate.

Continue until these affirmations become familiar. This takes an average of a month. The guide that you have reached this level will be the absence of anxiety and internal discomfort when thinking about a goal or problem. Instead, you have gained confidence that the problem will be solved and the goal will be achieved.
That’s all. Now be patient, or even better – switch your attention, and the result will manifest itself in the most favorable way at the most appropriate time.

What happened to the fears?

And the fears disappeared. At the slightest difficulty, I got used to switching my thoughts to solving problems that arise. I learned not to think about failure. She became bolder to take on new things. Set high goals and achieve them.

Reality management techniques and positive thinking have helped overcome insecurity and fears of the unknown. Now I know that all the changes in my life are for the better. The world takes care of me and there are many interesting and joyful events in it. And my game of “everyday magic” adds to the reality of cheerful and bright colors.
